Three fiction titles all connect to a common theme–selected for three different reading levels, A–C. Every reader can participate and have an opportunity for success.


Thematic Teacher Guide

Each Thematic Teacher Guide includes multiple activities and strategies that focus on elements common to all three titles (e.g., theme, characters, historical period). The Thematic Teacher Guide provides varied, multidisciplinary activities to use before, during, and after reading. It also includes opportunities for collaborative learning and leveled assessment.

Student Packet/Answer Key*

The individual Student Packets for each title in the kit are filled with prereading, during reading, and post-reading activities to address important reading and literature skills. The Student Packets emphasize active, meaningful learning. A separate Answer Key is provided for each of the three Student Packet variations.

Reader Response Journal*

Individual Reader Response Journals provide multiple opportunities for students to make personal connections and record thoughtful responses to what they read. These journals encourage the important reading-writing connection. Prompts relate to individual titles and to the overarching theme.
